St. Helens & South Lancashire Rail & Bus Site:

Glenvale (GTL)

Part 1 - Double-Deckers.

2005 was a bad year for those of us who like independent bus operators, with several being sold to large organisations. One of these was Glenvale Transport (GTL) , sold to the Stagecoach Group.

GTL was formed from the Gillmoss operations of Arriva, the sale being a condition imposed on the Arriva take over of MTL. Initially, GTL continued to use the MTL cream and red livery. GTL subsequently took over a large independent, CMT, and adopted its all-over red livery for repainted Titans and many acquired single-deckers.
