St. Helens Area Rail Photographs:
Part 1: St. Helens and St. Helens Junction.
Currently out of use, the final traffic on this section was the Hays' Chemicals sulphuric acid tanks, which ended on 27 September 2002. Regular passenger services ceased in 1965, but the line was used for freight and occasional special passenger workings until closed south of Sutton Oak. A schematic diagram of local railways (pre-1960's) is at the foot of this page.
