350.122 at Wigan North Western with the Birmingham - Preston service on 7 September 2005. Of all the new trains on the WCML, these are easily the best in terms of passenger environment.

46118 in Platform 4 with a southbound parcels service on 1 September 1962.

70016 enters Platform 5 on 1 September 1962. The canopy was largely intact, but dirty and with a few missing glass panels.

Class 108 (52038 + 51920) in Wigan North Western on 19 November 1966. The old canopy is decaying and has lost much of the glass. The train was in bay Platform 6, at the south end of the down main platform, and now removed. On the right is platform 5.

D426 (Class 50) at Wigan North Western on 22 November 1970, during rebuilding of the station. The up-side canopies had been removed, but the up platform (No. 4) buildings were still intact. The train is in platform 5.

D430 in platform 4 at Wigan North Western on 22 November 1970. The down-side canopies were in process of demolition and all the buildings would soon follow.

Wigan North Western on 2 April 1975, after rebuilding, with 40115 waiting to depart on a Liverpool local service. The down-side bays have been removed, the down island platform reduced in width, and the old buildings replaced by new.
